Great daypack/EDC pack
This is my favorite daypack, purchased to replace an *old* TNF Recon from back when they were good (mold in storage finally did it in). This is a very satisfactory replacement. It has a few minor flaws, which I'll get into, but I'm being very picky in this review... I haven't seen many reviews on what this pack is capable of holding, so here's mine. In the pictures it contains: -17" Lenovo laptop. Yes it fits in the laptop sleeve and the bottom corners are padded and isolated from the ground. -26 oz Yeti rambler water bottle. It *will* fit a 32 oz Nalgene, despite what some reviews say, but it'll be a tighter fit. Also fits 40 oz Thermo/Hydroflask, since those are the same diameter as a Nalgene. -Change of clothes including pants, polo shirt, belt, socks/undies, and light sweater. -3 notebooks: 1 legal pad, 2 journal/steno pad size -Phone charger, power bank, cables -Nike Romaleo 2 squat shoes (size 12) in expanding pocket (more on that later). -Neoprene knee sleeves (big thick ones), wrist wraps, Fat Gripz, and a few other small pieces of gym kit. -Small med kit/office stuff including pens, multitool, med shears, reflex hammer, flashlight, meds/bandaids, tape, folding knife, etc. I could have fit a bit more in there like my rain shell, laptop charger and mouse, but I didn't need those today. I was genuinely surprised by the pack being able to fit the 17" laptop and Nalgene, since specs and reviews say otherwise, but they'll fit just fine. The main pack material is a canvas or duck cloth with a softer hand and what might be a wax coating on the underside. The flap has a layer of synthetic material on the underside. Durability remains to be seen, but build quality is excellent. I haven't tested water resistance yet, and will update when I do. I have mixed feelings about the expanding pocket. It's definitely able to fit a pair of shoes or a bike/climbing helmet, but doing so requires the side zippers to be all the way down, exposing the MOLLE such that if you store pens or loose things there they're more likely to fall out. Those reporting zipper failures are likely trying to use the zippers to partially contain bulky items in this pocket, putting a ton of stress on them. The zippers should be all the way up or all the way down, and supported by the side straps in any case. To be nit-picky, I wish the pockets in the main compartment were a little different. Maybe 2 zipper pockets instead of the one. The open vertical pockets aren't very secure since the pack tends to fall over and dump small items that aren't clipped in. Oh, and for a pack where the main access is through the top, it doesn't stand up too great. Other quick thoughts: The pack rides high on my back and is too short to fit a waist belt, so I don't miss it. Concealed carry + laptop would probably be pretty uncomfortable. I dislike off-body carry anyway, though. It's surprisingly light. All things told, these are minor gripes and this is a solid pack and has become my daily carry for work and light rec. I especially like that it can fit all my stuff including my 17" work laptop without screaming "tacticool" and having MOLLE cover every surface (looking at you, 5.11 Rush 72) so I don't feel like I stand out unnecessarily when carrying. Would recommend.

Great Bag - Fashionable - Constructive Criticism
Awesome pack. I have shopped for years without finding something stylish, covert, and tactical. I love the shield quality. I love the covert nature, I can fit an 11x14 ballistic panel in the bag, I love the slightly more stylish look. I live in seattle and hiking bags dont fit in in office culture very well. This is a little more fashionable - but I wish the main compartment had a little more organization. I also wish that the top panel had more organization, and I wish that the bottle sleeves were a little larger, since they wont fit a nalgene. One other comment- if you update this bag, leather straps, grab handles and accessories would be AWESOME- that would take this black bag from good to great in terms of fashion. Strong fabric, well padded straps.

Love this bag.
This is my favorite bag so far. I had actually recently purchased a 5.11 bag and then saw this one from Vertx in store. I liked the bag but not the color, and then saw the blue online. I gave my husband the bag I had just bought and have carried this one ever since. My backpack organizer fits perfectly inside, and my Crossbreed pack fits in the other compartment. I love that it has the separate cushioned, zippered compartment in the back for carrying. I don't even use this bag to its full potential because there is so much you can do with the front compartment as well. The only thing I wish this had that my other bag did was the quick release snaps for the shoulder straps. I prefer to wear my backpacks higher so it can be awkward to get your arm out of the one strap if you're using both of them.

"leather" blistering already
I bought this bag from a friends recommendation. I love the versatility the bag offers. I didn't realize that the one I bought had "leather" on the flap and the bottom of the bag. I used this very little during the 38 days I have had it and now small pucker marks are showing up in the "leather". I am 8 days past the return policy so I guess I'm stuck with it now. I should have paid more attention to the materials but i liked the coloring of this one. I wish I would have bought one that was all cloth like my friends bag. I gave it 1 star because of the features, but zero stars for whatever this "leather" is. I'm sure that it will be just a matter of weeks before it all starts peeling off. I won't buy another bag with stuff on it but I would get one that is all canvas because it is a pretty cool bag if you are in the market for one. Just make sure it's all canvas. Update: I talked to Amazon Customer Service and they issued me a refund for a defective product. So now I will be purchasing a new Vertx bag but all canvas! 5 Stars for Amazon Customer Service!!

Awesome pack ????????
Awesome pack. I use it for my daily carry. I put my HP pro book 15’, power cables and lot of other stuff and carry it everywhere. Lots of dump room and the simple design aesthetics. Made of good quality material as well, holding up ruggedly even after heavy use! Only con is that it’s pricy, and if you are a guy who wants assorted compartments in the bag it isn’t designed that way.

Excellent Pack
The pack is excellent quality. My first aid kit fits nicely into the Molle compartment with room to spare. Only downside is that there isn't a lot of organisational pockets.

Cutest EDC bag
I use this everyday, school, and traveling. Doesn’t have that much space but enough for about a 3 day travel. Has perfect space for my 13” Mac and a vertx back space for “you know what pew pew”.
